Guest：Even after six visits, this resort does not disappoint - every trip is truly fantastic. Here are my hints and tips for those planning a visit. Boat Transfer or Seaplane: If you have a day flight into Malé, you’ll enjoy stunning views of various islands as you descend, so make sure you book a window seat. I’ve never taken the seaplane for the aforementioned reason, but it is a super quick flight if you opt for it. There can be delays in bad weather, making the luxury boat transfer very attractive (50/60 mins). If you’re lucky, the dolphins will join you for the journey. The boat itself is gorgeous, with the crew always being attentive and welcoming. Light snacks and refreshments are also provided. Sit on the outdoor deck upstairs if the weather is good for some post-flight sunshine and incredible views. Overwater or Beach Villa: You can’t go wrong, as both are exceptional. If this is your first Maldives trip, definitely try an overwater villa as waking up surrounded by the ocean is unforgettable. The beach villa feels very “James Bond”, stepping out directly onto your own stretch of sand. Privacy is respected and while another guest might occasionally stroll past on the beach, it never feels intrusive. I have enjoyed snorkeling from each villa option, and you’ll get different marine life experiences depending on location. The island can get windy and the direction changes seasonally, so you might want to understand which side of the island is calmer before arrival. Villa Amenities: They have thought of everything and this is the only hotel in the world where I bring no toiletries. Everything is Bamford and replenished constantly. Forgot something (like flip flops, a sun hat, sunscreen)? They’ve got it sorted. There is a “proper hairdryer”, great lighting and plenty of mirrors (full length mirrors being on the sliding bathroom doors). The bathroom amenity kit is thoughtfully curated and housekeeping seems to pre-empt what you need before you realise you need it. The level of attention is exceptional. What to Wear: Most people make an effort and you’ll see everything from relaxed linens to cocktail dresses. There is a resort boutique that stocks high-end brands (Zimmermann, Missoni, Frescobol Carioca etc.). After my fourth trip, I stopped packing heels entirely. Flat sandals are the way to go. If heels are your thing, the only restaurants where heels are impractical are Beach Shack and Marina Village restaurants (on the opposite island). All other restaurants are fully floored and the golf carts drop you right at the entrances. Dining Tips: You can’t make a bad choice, as every restaurant is excellent. Breakfast is my favourite ritual of the day and should not be rushed - the buffet is the way to go. The selection is incredible and better value than à la carte. Guest：Spent our 25th Anniversary and 8 unforgettable nights at the Ritz. This resort and staff are next level. Every single employee you meet goes above and beyond. The rooms are so well maintained, luxurious, well stocked and so, so clean! We opted for a sunset beach view villa rather than over the water one and loved having the lounge chairs on the beach. Our Aris Meeha, Pako, was so helpful. He booked our dinners and excursions, and really just took care of anything we needed, including driving us to dinners when we asked. He was super friendly, helpful and had a great personality! The food at all of the restaurants is excellent and varied. Breakfast buffet has every possible option! Loved the spa and our treatments. This resort is not to be missed, don’t second guess it or book somewhere else, it cannot possibly be better than the Ritz! Our only regret is that we didn’t stay 2 more nights! Thank you to Pako and everyone else that helped celebrate our anniversary over and over again!
